WINTER WORKSHOP

Ukraine, Carpathian Mountains

January - February 2024

JOIN

Winter Landscape Photography Workshop
Ukraine, Carpathian Mountains

In this workshop, we will visit two locations in the Carpathians of Ukraine, where we will practice photographing winter landscapes with all its challenges and difficulties, and we will also try to create a composition using different techniques and light. Scene planning and natural light play a big role in landscape photography, so it is important to be in the right place at the right time, and to arrive at the location early to prepare for the shoot.

Shypit Waterfall - here we practice shooting the waterfall with a long exposure to convey the dynamics of the water, using the right settings and using the necessary equipment.

Lake Synevyr - this location is usually calmer and at first glance not as impressive in the lens compared to the previous one, so we will learn how to create a composition using artificial lighting, for this we will stay until the blue hour and experiment with staging and exposure.

We apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused by the electricity situation in Ukraine, and we hope for your understanding, because we cannot influence this, there are blackouts in the area we will be traveling to, but the accommodation has a generator that provides energy for cooking and the Internet. The rooms store the accumulated heat from the battery, and such a boiler maintains a comfortable water temperature. The lights in the rooms will be on for the duration of the blackout, so please don't forget your flashlights.
